Undocumented Primate Nursery Lamp?

I haven't seen this one before. Wondering if it's something other than a nursery lamp. What do you think?

This is indeed an unusual figural. I believe it to ba a candle lamp. But, as with many items such as this, it could have a dual purpose. That said, it bothers me somewhat that it is "tall and narrow". I would think a candle would have a little trouble getting enough air to burn. I do not think it ever had a lid.

I have added this figural to my library of figurals and have researched the embossed marking "Geshutzt". See below. (The description is that of the seller.) I added the "Geshutzt" explanation for my reference only.



Any other thoughts???
