Hello ,I have a set of three figurals from 1897 commemorating Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee.

They are from the London Suppliers Hearn Wright &co Who had them manufactured by the Eclipse Glass works company, There were many forms but the most sought after are the bust of Queen Victoria, A cluster of Grapes and a tulip.

I have all three for sale all of which are in fine condition.

Undocumented nursery lamp

Does anyone know anything about these two pieces? The first one, the lion, has glass eyes (applied with plaster from the back) and it is very small 2 1/2" tall and about 3 1/2" wide and unmarked. The second one (I don't know what it is) I bought thinking it could be a nursery lamp, but I'm uncertain. It has glass eyes (but the inside is entirely glazed over including the eyes). It measures about 3 1/4" high and is about 4 1/2" long. The bottom is marked 12.18. ...

Lithophane on Unidentified Porcelain Stand

I picked up this Lithophane last week on what I think is an undocumented porcelain stand. There are several similar examples of this stand but none quite like this model. The base is marked "DRGM Registered" with an impressed "8" and handwritten "35". Standard alone is 6.75" tall. 9" tall with Lithophane shade. The shade has three scenes, shown below.

Just an observation. Coming to fairy lamp collecting fairly recently, I have observed that there are more surviving fairy size three piece fairy lamps than three piece pyramid size fairy lamps. I have not seen a webb cameo pyramid three piece lamp, but I am sure some of you have one or more in your collection. Ebay #180260099430 is interesting. It is a pyramid size burmese fairy lamp base. Though they don't describe it as a fairy lamp base, I emailed and asked what the Webb signature said and they replied that fairy was included. My question and reply appear on the ebay listing. What intrigues me is that there doesn't appear to be a feather menu holder. I have only seen this shape with a menu holder. Does anyone know if this particular Webb fairy lamp shape was made without the feather holder? ...

I have looked for a manufactures name on several occasions to no avail. However this column has many of the traits of the ones marked with the Clarke name. Complete lamp with Ceramic Insert

The title and description call the lamp a Nailsea, but it is a paneled pyramid-size rose marbleized dome. This is the first rose colored one I have seen. The ones most often seen are the green version shown in R-102. It would be nice to have both colors, but the price is set higher than I wish to pay, but it might be in someone elses range. Doulton Fairy Lamp Base - R-521

Here is a very nice Doulton Fairy Lamp base similar to R-521. I am posting this because of the detailed photos. Photos are perhaps the only thing many of us will ever get a chance to see.

If you are wondering about the value, this same lamp base sold for over $1100 in 2003 and R-522 sold for $950 in 2004. If you are not in the market for such a base, it is a good auction to watch.....that's what I'll be doing.

Fairy Lamps Recession

Whether it is officially a recession or not, the reality is that we are in an economic downturn. I have heard and read a lot of anecdotal evidence that antique prices have plummeted. One appraiser said he is appraising more antiques than ever in the past ten years for people selling for financial reasons.
