I bought a pair of these from England along with a few fairy lamps and a standard waffle pattern mold blown Christmas light. The shape/size/proportion of these is right for Christmas lights, but are they or are they small vases???

The color is an unusual rich marigold yellow with a satin finish. Raised mold-patterned netting with 4 dimples around the sides. They measure 3 3/8"tall x 3" at the widest x 2" lip diameter. The rims are ground and polished.

Is this a Nursery Lamp??

I spotted this piece for sale online. When I saw it from the front, I was sure it was a nursery light; but then the side view reveals that the top opening is at an angle down the side rather than at the top, which wouldn't work with a burning candle. The size of the piece is right - approx. 3" tall x 3" wide. Anyone recognize it or have speculations?

For some time I have considered changing the design of the Fairy Lamp Club webpage. While the current design is acceptable, I did not like the difficulty in finding what I wanted on the home page. I also did not like having to return to the home page every time I wanted to change a topic. Sooo....I am considering a new design that will, hopefully, make the webpage easier to navigate. But, before I go to a lot of trouble modifying all the pages, I thought I would ask for your opinion.

Hi,

As you probably know, Boulton & Mills registered some designs related to fairy lamps. Two designs are illustrated in Victorian Decorative Glass by Gulliver, p. 275. I thought you might like to see how the design drawings of the shade compare with the actual item.

Pairpoint?

I came across this electrical lamp on the internet that reminds me of Pairpoint. The top is puffy fruit and flowers on a basketweave base. It's slightly over 9" tall. The price is a steal if it is Pairpoint. Does anyone recognize this lamp? Does anyone know if Pairpoint pieces are typically marked? (this one has no markings) I've sent Jim a photo to post -- it was the best photo I could get off the next. Thanks for any advice/info. Tracy

Last week I offered to help someone identify a Millefiori oil lamp as being contemporary or Victorian if they would send me a photo. The following images (link provided) are what they sent to me for review. The lamps, with a few exceptions, appear to be contemporary Italian and Bohemian. Many, however, I have never seen before.

I have already solicited comments fro the Early American Pressed Glass Group (EAPG) and the Night Light Group. The EAPG considers them all (95%) contemporary ...

I have received a few comments related to publishing the book in two volumes or one. So far, the consensus is to publish one volume. The logical break point would be when the "U-numbers" reach 400. This makes sense to me and there is only a $5 difference in cost to publish per book.

Keep an eye out for the current episode of Antiques Roadshow, which was on my local PBS station last evening. There is a segment at a museum house about FAIRY LAMPS. They actually light an old 'burglars horror' candle and put it in an old lamp. It was part 2 of 3 from, I believe, Spokane.

Fairy Lamp Base?

Attached are photos of a glass bowl. It is 6 1/2" point to point, roughly 2" tall, approximately 3" across the "bowl" where a base would sit. A regular fairy lamp base fits in pretty good with just a little wiggle room. Do you think this is a base to a fairy lamp? Any help would be appreciated.

Clarke Lamp Cups with holes

Does anyone have any Clarke lamp cups, pyramid or fairy-size, with holes in the bottom. The holes are typically 3/8" in diameter but, the size is not important. If you have any, would you please send me photos. I just need the photos, I do not wish to buy it.

Below is generally what I am looking for but with embossing to identify it as a Clarke lamp cup.
