There is no cup with this lamp, but thats a small issue. This is also a no reserve auction. The auction number for that one is 330375496157 . The third is just a Burmese ...

Is it me or is there something different about this figural? Or, is it the same as R-369 and R-374? Maybe it just the way it is painted that makes it look different,

We have done an article in the past on the Diamond Candle lamps, but I cant recall anything about the base as shown here. I also know we have written articles about lamps with metal trim around the top opening, but again, nothing like this one. Does anyone have any ideas about ...

Hi everyone,

A couple of years ago I bought an Acorn Fairy lamp and the group decided it might be Bohemian. Well, I found a pitcher on eBay that has the same rigaree work on the leafs and acorn. I think it could be a clue to my Fairy Lamp. Any ideas?

I think we have talked about this style lamp before, but I could not find the discussion. There is a small owl that holds a small candle (not a Clarke style candle) that locks into the base. I have only seen white glazed versions of this lamp before, but on ebay right now is a life like painted version. The link to the lamp is:

This lamp recently sold on ebay as number 170347615930 and it is marked on the shade with some unique notes. As usual, the base is embossed with the Fairy and typical S. Clarke Fairy Pyramid. The shade was marked with the common acid mark of “Trade Mark, Fairy”, however, there was more to the acid mark. It also said “Made Abroad”. Has anyone seen this additional information on a lamp piece before? Was this mark necessary to meet import duty fees, or something else?

R-418 Elglish Cottage is known to have been distributed by Price Candle Company along with R-419. A recent eBay auction has added another bit of information, the maker.

I was not aware of Collingwood China but, a brief internet search revealed a long history of making fine bone china. Just why they produced this unusual candle lamp is a mystery since it does not seem to be their speciality, except for the bright ...

Here is a unique painted Burmese lamp

This is a painted design I have not seen before. It shows a unique plant on one side and a butterfly on the other. The Burmese cup is also painted like I have never seen before. It is to bad that both pieces are damaged. But for the price, it might be nice to pick them up and take a good look.

Here is a mirrored plateau with Burmese posey holders for R-682. The color is pretty intense but it may be just the photo.

Personally, I think the expectations of the seller are too high. But, as you may know, I live on the poor side of the tracks and think the price of milk is too high. If you already have the matching fairy lamp and the means....go for it.

This Burmese lamp is composed from two different lamps. The shade / dome is decorated with the Prunus pattern while the base is decorated with the Ivy pattern. Both pieces are very nice by themselves, but would probable best be suited to find the matching pieces for each. With a Burmese candle cup and Ivy painted dome, it would be a great piece with the acid signature on the bottom. Then you could look for a base with the Prunus design, or a pottery base which would suit the dome nicely.

I noticed this lamp when it was posted and bookmarked it so I could watch it. THe next day I go back to look again and its sold off of ebay. It is a very unique lamp made by the K.P.M. Company. This is the first lamp in this style that I have seen. Has anyone else seen one like it?

The seller says that they believe it was made by Schafer & Vater since it looks like some of their wares. I wrote and asked what makes them believe this was the manufacture. The reply reads " I believe it is consistent with the quality and types of novelty ware which S & V were known to produce.
The top and the base look like they could go together, and with the pattern in the base to hold the shade up to let in air looks like it very well could be a fairy lamp base, but the color and style of the base reminds me of Wedgewood Jasperware, while the top doesn’t. Does anyone know anything about either of these pieces, or as a set?

This lamp had almost run its auction before I looked closely at it. One thing that caught my eye is that on the shade, in the center of each diamond, is a dot. However, the base doesn’t have the same decoration. I’m sure the air trap design was planed that way on the shade, as that would take quite a bit of extra work to get that to occur. The artisan that did the work did miss several diamonds when placing the dot. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling his work shoddy, because I couldn’t even ...
