Christmas lights?

I bought a pair of these from England along with a few fairy lamps and a standard waffle pattern mold blown Christmas light. The shape/size/proportion of these is right for Christmas lights, but are they or are they small vases???

The color is an unusual rich marigold yellow with a satin finish. Raised mold-patterned netting with 4 dimples around the sides. They measure 3 3/8"tall x 3" at the widest x 2" lip diameter. The rims are ground and polished.

I'd love to have your opinions. Who?What?Where?When?
