Nailsea Dome

I believe this dome to be a minature oil lamp dome - anyone else think other wise ?

I asked if they would post a photo from the side of the shade without the cup, which they did. I have also attached the photo below for referance. I asked for the photo since I was thinking that this is a mini oil lamp shade. Looking at the photo, the bottom opening is more tapered and not long enough (I think) to touch the dome support around the inside of the cup. The shade has some of the same features as the lamp shown in Ruth Smiths book #2 as Figure IV on page 67. It is also similar to the figure 577 on page 234 in Marjorie Hulsebus second book. This shape can be done this way with the smaller top opening due to the use of the chimney which draws the heat out. I don't have a photo of the oil lamp, or I would add it as well.

I also believe the silver plated stand, with handle across the top, was meant to hold a jelly dish or master salt or something other than a fairy lamp.
