Again and again
It must be that time of year. This is the second Royal Worchester Grecian Water Carrier to show up in the last month or two. The second example is in far better condition than the first, since she is not broken into pieces. (See forum [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is interesting is that it is the other half of the pair. Both of these examples stand at 20 inches tall. Neither of these two examples are marked with the CRICKLITE name. The broken example is dated from 1900 with 10 dots around the mark. The second example has 7 dots dating it from 1898. The broken example has a green Royal Worchester mark while the undamaged lady, or second example, has the mark in red. They are both marked 2/125 in matching color just below the Royal Worchester stamp. Both are impressed with some letters which are not easily read. The second base has a hand painted number of 71 while the first has no similar mark. Both bases are constructed without the second tier around the base. The second example is missing whatever would have gone in the top of the pot to hold whatever it was designed for. The same question pops up again. If it is not marked CRICKLITE, was it made for some other purpose. All the similar lamps shown in Fairy Lamps – Elegance in Candle Lighting by Ruf and Ruf are marked CRICKLITE even though the years vary greatly. The second base can be found at:

Re: Again and again
I thought I would show a few water carriers side by side so you can see the differences, expecially in the bases.
And one example fitted with an oil lamp.
