If the artist is not important to you, here is a complete lamp.

But I lost the auction at the very last second.

You will quickly discover than many auctions, especially fairy lamp auctions, are won by "snipe bids". Bidding early tends to only drive up the bid. Good luck in the next auction. I keep watching for you.

Re: Westmoreland Ruby Red Roses lamp shade
I wondered what was going on. I was watching the little clock and at 3 seconds boom I was outbid!! I have only bid on two things on Ebay in my life and was so disappointed in the outcome. I figured there was something nefarious going on. Should I alert ebay and maybe they can look into it or is there nothing that can be done?

Re: Westmoreland Ruby Red Roses lamp shade
Snipe bids are an accepted and somewhat common practice on EBay. It allows the bidder to bid his maximum amount in the last few seconds. In addition, they do not have to sit around and wait for the auction to close. It is not much different than an absentee bid at a live auction. Still, there is no guarantee that they will be the high bidder. Snipe bidders can, and often do, loose to another snipe bidder with a higher bid. Same as I with two absentee bids at a live auction.
Re: Westmoreland Ruby Red Roses lamp shade
I read that Ebay doesn't allow snipe bidders but how could they tell if a bid is a snipe or not?

Ruby red
There are several rose red shades and lamps on ebay currently. The prices vary greatly as can be expected. If your willing to wait, I'm sure one will be right around the corner.
As far as snipe bids, I'm sure in public ebay may say they are against them, but in reality, anything that ups the final bid I think they would need to be in favor of. There are several sites on the web that offer free snipe bidding. I use one and have been very happy with it, but that is far from saying I win most of the items. It seams that there is always someone who is willing to spend more than I am. Always be sure the site is reputable before handing over any of your ebay information.
