Every now and then something comes up on ebay that strikes my fancy. This is one of those cases. As I was looking around I found a "Little Toy Town by Parker Brothers Grocery Store" which contains a miniature box of Clarke's candles along with other shelf items. Take a look. It is item number 281275291582. You will see the box centered in the bottom shelf. These cardboard toy stores seldom come up for sale in this condition. :-)

I did a little quick research online to find the history of some of these products, as they appear much later than the Clarke's box. Cheerios were named in 1945, Ritz crackers in 1934, and Betty Crocker cake mixes were introduced in 1947. Assuming all the boxes are original to the set, it must date to the 1940s or later. It is curious that they included the Clarke box. It would be fun to have just that box in a fairy lamp collection.
