Nice decorated lamp for your collection.

Post by cadking on Tue Sep 09, 2008 8:52 pm

I was walking around the internet today and found this lamp. I don't think I have seen one like it with the design before. It isn't on ebay, so I didn't know if this was the place for it, but it is what it is. The link to the lamp is:

They have several other Fairy Lamps on the site as well at:

I don't know if the other members knew that this was here or not. It is always nice to know what is out there and the prices being asked. I know it makes me smile once and a while.

Last year two similar lamps showed up at the same some. The decoration is different but the lamps appear to be the same. I lincluded them in the Undocumented Photo Album as U-337 and U-338. Below is a combined imaged to show how this new find compares with the others.

The lamps are very nice but, I get a bit nervous whenever several lamps show up at about the same time that we have never seen before and know nothing about. If anyone knows anything about these lamps or, even has a theory, please speak up.

I did see the two lamps U-337 and U-338 that you show. All three of the lamps have enameling that looks old and correct (unlike the thin paint style seen on newer lamps). When I think about this design, it reminds me of U-95 with the same style air vents and the way the dome sits over the base rather than in it.
Did the two which showed up together come out of a collection? That is one way to explain the sudden appearance of two similar lamps.

Yes, the original owner of these two lamps found them together at an estate auction. Good point.

I think one of the best things I like about collecting fairy lamps is that you never stop learning and making new discoveries. This is a good example.
