Whats a base without a shade?

There is a spectacular base on ebay right now that is a swirl cleveland with pink, blue and yellow. It has a broken cranberry colored shade on it that is worthless. But the asking price starts a little high. Of course, if you had a matching shade, that might be reasonable. After all, how many of these could exist. You could take a stand alone dome and turn it into something special. I of course, don’t have that dome. But maybe you do. Take a look at action #330380446861 of follow the link below.

Well the auction ended with no bids at the starting price of $450.00, so it was relisted again. If it didn't sell at $450.00 then what do you think the wise thing to do was? I know, lets raise the price $50.00 and try it again. So with a $500.00 starting price, here is the same base.

Interesting philosphy. Perhaps the seller is stuck in the housing boom when prices escalated $10,000 a month. Alas, those days are long gone. Perhaps someone should send the seller a PM and "Make a reasonable offer". You never know.

I also wonder where this seller got their "estimate of value". I doubt that they came by it alone.
