Indy Hoosier Antique Expo
Fairy Lamp Club member Tom Neale reports he has joined with Shawn Hastings Promotions and will assist in producing the long standing Indy Hoosier Antique Expo. This show has been running for 39 straight yrs and is still one of the top quality antique shows in the country. Always filled with loads of quality early glass and porcelain, art glass, furniture, etc., the show has attracted many club members over the years. Some of the rarest items in mini lamps and fairy lamps have come from this show, such as an English cameo mini lamp, or Burmese fairy lamps. Tom and Glen have exhibited 35 yrs. themselves, and report it is still one of their best.
Tom would like to invite all collector clubs to consider their annual club meeting (or mini meeting) at Indy to coincide with the show. They can offer clubs free space for seminars and displays, as well as free tables and chairs. Abundant free space is available, especially in the spring events. He mentions their Pa. show, for example, has at least 10 free booths displaying each collector club's special pieces. Club members man each booth, offering information as well as membership applications to the public.
Indy shows will continue to run in April, June and Sept. at the Indy fairgrounds. The next show is scheduled for April 11-13.
