Figural Kitty Lamp

Is anyone familiar with this figural kitty lamp? It looks pretty crude. Please share your knowledge and thoughts .....

This is indeed an unusual figural. I have never seen another quite like it.

The opening is very small and the eyes seem to be painted pottery. Do you think it could it have had a lid at one time?

To me it looks like some ones sea shell craft project on a Fairy Lamp. I don't think you would be able to remove the shells without damaging the lamp or at least the painted surface. THe top hole does seam a little small, but R-376 has a similar sized hole on the back side of the animals head.

I do believe the eyes are painted on. Well, if the price doesn't go too high, I will likely buy it out of curiosity and report back.
