Whats with the extra text?

This lamp recently sold on ebay as number 170347615930 and it is marked on the shade with some unique notes. As usual, the base is embossed with the Fairy and typical S. Clarke Fairy Pyramid. The shade was marked with the common acid mark of “Trade Mark, Fairy”, however, there was more to the acid mark. It also said “Made Abroad”. Has anyone seen this additional information on a lamp piece before? Was this mark necessary to meet import duty fees, or something else?
