Amethyst Diamond Hobnail Lamp
Since we have been talking about oddities, here is another. The shade looks like it belongs on a Diamond Candle tin base, but the base and trim around the top opening are very different from anything I have seen before. We have done an article in the past on the Diamond Candle lamps, but I cant recall anything about the base as shown here. I also know we have written articles about lamps with metal trim around the top opening, but again, nothing like this one. Does anyone have any ideas about this lamp?

Yep, this lamp was included in the article DIAMOND CANDLE COMPANY by Lloyd & Jim, May 2004, pgs. 2-6. Following is a photo shows the illustration and the accompaning "comment".
I am considering a follow-up article on Diamond Candle Co. in the next newsletter to document some recent "finds".

Figure 5b. Variety of metal bases and accessories
The other metal bases and accessories are quite varied. Were they all made for the Diamond Candle Company or are they just cheap rip-offs?

Re: Amethyst Diamond Hobnail Lamp
I guess I missed that write-up. The reason I asked, as I am sure you did as well is that the purpose of these lamps was to promote the sales of the Diamond Candles with the embossing in the bottom of the candle cup. With these other bases, I have yet to see one with like embossing or a makers mark.
Thanks for the heads-up on the article, I will go back through and see if I have that copy some where.
